When the opening ceremonies are held Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families, bells made by Schulmerich Bells will be used to help ring in the beginning stages of what will conclude with Pope Francis delivering a Sept. 27 Papal Mass.

Bells made by the Hilltown-based world’s largest producer of handbells are also used by one of the groups that will be performing before the papal Mass.

“Our products all share a common theme: they create an emotional connection between their sound and the human heart,” according to information on the company’s website.

Haydon Goer, Schulmerich’s chief operating officer, and Marie Page, chief financial officer, said they’ll be going to Philadelphia to deliver 13 bells to families taking part in the Sept. 22 opening ceremonies at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
